Graham is Vice President Europe, Pharma Strategy, at IMS Health, with a primary focus on strategic issues in the pharmaceutical industry. Over the course of the last 10 years in this role he has developed particular expertise in geographical growth opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio planning and forecasting. An economist by profession, Graham draws on widespread experience of international market research, product management and business development at major industrial companies such as Philips and Cadbury Schweppes. Graham began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1973 with a position at Eli Lilly. He subsequently moved to the service side of the industry with Medical Market Studies, becoming Managing Director in 1978. He continued in that role until merging MMSL into the IMS Pharma Strategy group in 1992.
Graham has spoken at many conferences in Western Europe, North America, Latin America and the Far East, including China, and is widely respected and sought after for his views and strategic insights. He has also published a number of papers in the trade and medical press.
In May 2002, Graham was awarded the first Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed by the Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Research Group in recognition of his “outstanding lifetime contributions to the Pharmaceutical Industry and Market Research Profession.”
