ISPOR 10th Annual European Congress, Dublin, Ireland, October 2007

IMS' involvement at the European ISPOR meeting this year focussed on building an effective health economics and outcomes research case and then communicated that value effectively.

At the event in Dublin, IMS hosted its own symposium covering the keys points surrounding identifying and effectively communicating value. IMS also presented a number of workshops, podium presentations, along with poster presentations covering the latest findings from our research conducted in Health Economics and Outcomes Research.

The IMS Symposium at the European ISPOR conference 'Can you hear me now? Techniques for effectively communicating value to internal and external decision makers', looked at key issues surrounding the need for effectively developing and communicating value to internal and external decision makers. As pressure mounts for pharmaceutical companies to be more competitive and cost effective, there is an imperative to be accountable for ROI and to ensure alignment of global resources. HEOR is a key capability with increasing importance in achieving these goals - but its vital contribution must be communicated effectively.

With this in mind, the symposium will addressed:

The speakers were: Jonothan Tierce, Claude Le Pen, Adrian Kielhorn and Elisabeth Hazard.

IMS will also had presence in the plenary and poster sessions with over 60 presentations and involvement from across the company. A Pre-Conference Course was held on the first day of the event covering European Databases and Retrospective Database Analysis, and we presented a number of workshops which were subsequently held.

The IMS stand offered a vast selection of information and collateral for visitors to refer to, and the IMS experts in HEOR including representatives of the most recent acquisitions, MERG and Aremis Consulting, were on hand to answer questions and discuss issues.
